1:00 pm – Played in the yard! My favorite thing!
3:00 pm – Wagged my tail! My favorite thing!
5:00 pm – Dinner! My favorite thing!
7:00 pm – Got to play ball! My favorite thing!
8:00 pm – Wow! Watched TV with the people! My favorite thing!
11:00 pm – Sleeping on the bed! My favorite thing!

Day 983 of My Captivity

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a “good little hunter” I am. Bastards!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of “allergies.” I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now …

CES 2009 – One Geek’s Observation

I’m a Vegas local so I figured that I would attend CES this year. The consumer electronics show is huge, it encompasses all the convention space available in Las Vegas. I walked around and around and around and checked out all the nifty gadgets and soon to be available technology but one that stood out in my mind was the Gravitonus iClubby Workstation that was being demonstrated at the Intel booth. This would make a nice addition to my home office but I’m pretty sure it will cost more then my car. Companies like Microsoft, Samsung, Panasonic, LG had large, fancy booths with lots of tech eye candy. CNET and NBC where broadcasting live from their booths. The best part of the day came when I got to enjoy seeing Tekzilla broadcasting live. What a treat!
I finally meet one of my all-time favorites from the old Tech TV days, Patrick Norton, what an awesome dude!
I had the pleasure of meeting Jim Louderback, a real gentleman. I saw Mrs. Technology herself, Veronica Belmont in action and last but not least, I had flashbacks to DL.TV as I observed Roger Chang running around behind the scenes. I feel like I know all these people, just from the years of listening to Netcasts and watching Vidcasts. These are the pioneers of our generation. People like Patrick Norton, Leo Laporte, and most of the old gang from the ZDNEt/Tech TV days are very much responsible for making streaming media like DL.TV, CrankGeeks, Systm, and multiple TWIT netcasts as popular as they are today. And it will only get stronger.

Anyways, it would not be fair to end this post without a quick “dvorak.org/blog!” John C. Dvorak is another one of the leaders in this new era of broadcasting. I will get deeper into this technology, the players and how they revolutionized the tech industry in upcoming posts.

By the way, “Where in the hell is Leo?” How LAME of Macworld to have theirs the same week of CES, or is it the other way around?

This is my first Blog. Not sure what I’m going to say or do on this site. I plan on trying to introduce some of the great people in tech to the non-tech world. You ask, why read another idiot babbling on a blog? I have no answer for you expect, one day, this will be a nice little place to come and link to all kinds of technology related stuff and some non-geek stuff as well.

Please feel free to comment on what you might like to see or links that you might be looking for and I will see what I can find for you.
